DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
Keaveney Family Funerals is operated by Ciaran Brendan Keaveney, ABN 33 523 525 081.
For the purposes of this disclosure, “responsible applicant” means the person who enters into the funeral arrangements and is legally authorised to make those arrangements.
Transfer, Mortuary and Cremation Services
Keaveney Family Funerals does not own or operate a mortuary, crematorium or mortuary transfer service.
Initial transfers into care are ordinarily carried out on our behalf by Personal Services Australia (PSA), operated by Fishbone Investments Pty Ltd, using a suitable specialist mortuary transfer vehicle. If another transfer provider is required because PSA is unavailable, the responsible applicant will be informed and the transfer arrangements will be recorded in writing.
Mortuary accommodation, care and preparation are provided at Macarthur Grange Crematorium, Smeaton Grange. Macarthur Grange Crematorium is operated by Fishbone Investments Pty Ltd, which also operates Personal Services Australia.
Where cremation is selected, it will ordinarily take place at Macarthur Grange Crematorium. Alternatively, another crematorium may be selected by the responsible applicant. The selected crematorium, its location, owner or manager, and applicable charges will be recorded in the written quotation and funeral agreement. Any subsequent change will be confirmed through a written variation before the cremation takes place.
Following the initial transfer into care, the deceased person may be transported in a suitable specialist mortuary transfer vehicle or hearse as reasonably required for mortuary care and preparation, viewing, the funeral or committal service, burial or cremation.
The deceased person will only be transported as reasonably required to carry out the authorised funeral arrangements, provide necessary mortuary care or comply with a legal or public health requirement.
Pricing and Written Quotations
Our current itemised price list and the price and inclusions of our least expensive funeral package are prominently displayed on the separate Funeral Pricing page of this website. A printed or electronic copy is also available upon request.
Before entering into a funeral agreement, the responsible applicant will receive a written itemised quotation showing:
each good and service selected;
professional service fees;
third-party fees and disbursements;
any applicable allowances;
any additional charges; and
the total amount payable.
Where a third-party charge cannot be determined when the quotation is prepared, it will be clearly identified as a reasonable estimate.
If an estimated charge changes before the funeral, the responsible applicant will be given a revised written quotation or variation showing the revised total amount payable. Any family-requested variation that increases the agreed price must be authorised in writing before the additional goods or services are supplied.
Where the actual third-party charge is not known until after the funeral, the final invoice will show the actual amount charged. Supporting supplier documentation will be provided upon request.
Cemetery, grave, interment, grave opening and closing, shoring, cemetery chapel and other cemetery charges are not included in a package price unless expressly stated. Where applicable, these charges will be separately itemised in the written quotation as an actual charge or reasonable estimate.
Where a package contains an allowance for a venue, floral tribute or another third-party service, any amount exceeding the stated allowance will be payable in addition to the package price. The additional amount will be disclosed and authorised before the relevant service is ordered.
The funeral agreement will be signed and dated by both the responsible applicant and Ciaran Brendan Keaveney trading as Keaveney Family Funerals, or an authorised representative.
Payment
Full payment in cleared funds is required no later than one business day before the funeral service, burial or private cremation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Funeral Goods and Services Information Standard contained in Division 2 of Part 2 of the Fair Trading Regulation 2019 (NSW).
